FINANCIAL CENTER: ISTANBUL Active ACADEMY 5th International Finance Summit took place on December 5-6, 2007 in Swiss Otel Istanbul. The main theme of this year’s Summit was “Financial Center: İstanbul”. Istanbul has known as a national finance center, therefore possibility of being a regional/ international finance center was discussed in this Summit. In the first day of the Summit, subjects such as “Competitive Advantages of İstanbul and Expectations”, “Comparative Analysis of İstanbul Versus World Financial Centres”, “Public Sector and Ratings in The World and Turkey”, “Macro and Micro Requirements of Being a Financial Centre” have taken into consideration. While basic steps and strategies handle from different perspectives, suggestions for being a financial center of Istanbul were shared. Macro economic outlook of Turkey and position of İstanbul, technologic and logistic infrastructure of the city, expectations and role of real asset sector were discussed in the second day of the Summit. Furthermore, in the “CEOs' In Conversation: Global and Regional Financial Outlook” session, the leaders of the sector shared their future previsions. We believe that the 5th International Finance Summit has important contribution to the flow of information in finance world as the others.
